At this celebratory event on 12 September, we took our guests on a time-travel tour of the impressive developments around circular calcite. We showed how this sustainable material - derived from the softening reactors of drinking water companies - is increasingly finding applications in sectors such as food, animal feed, cosmetics and high-end industrial applications. There was also plenty of opportunity to reflect on our shared successes with chain partners and stakeholders.

What started in 2010 as an exploration of calcite as an alternative graft material in water softening, has grown into the realisation of a full-scale plant, where sand-free calcite granules are processed into custom-made raw materials for a variety of applications. The plant was recently expanded to include a production line producing graft material for drinking water companies, making the chain fully circular. Thanks to the commitment and cooperation of many, we have achieved the scale we envisioned. The number of applications for calcite continues to grow, and what we have achieved so far shows not only the progress, but also the huge potential for the future.

During the event, the new name for the calcite line was proudly introduced: Qualitycal. This name perfectly reflects what the product stands for: quality - in every link of our circular chain.
